The Artist
Bob Keller is a fine art photographer with over two decades of experience in both traditional film-based and digital image making. Over the years he has been working primarily with Hasselblad 500CM and a Mamiya 645 medium format film cameras, along with a Nikon F2 35mm film camera, and with Canon D5 Mark III and Nikon z9 digital cameras, his practice is rooted in the discipline and patience of analog processes—favoring medium format film, natural light, and platinum-palladium printing techniques.
Keller's work explores themes of isolation, impermanence, and the sublime presence of nature. His photographs are often composed in rugged, remote landscapes—such as California’s Sierra Nevada, including Yosemite National Park, and the ancient rock formations of the Alabama Hills—where silence and scale shape the viewer's experience. Every image is crafted with a painter’s eye and a deep reverence for light, texture, and tonal depth.
Bob holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Northern Iowa and an Associate of Applied Sciences from Maric College. While his education provided a structural foundation, it is his time spent in the darkroom and in the field—carrying a tripod at 10,000 feet—that defines his artistic voice.
Welcome to Bob Keller Fine Art Photography
I create fine art photography that captures the quiet majesty of the natural world. My work is rooted in both digital and traditional film techniques, with an eye for light, texture, and emotional resonance.
Each image is a study in presence—moments where time seems to hold still. From the rugged peaks of the Sierra Nevada to the stillness of desert shadows, I seek out scenes that reflect solitude, strength, and subtle beauty.
Whether you’re a collector, fellow artist, or simply passing through, I invite you to explore my portfolio. All photographs are available as museum-quality prints, produced with archival materials to ensure lasting richness and clarity.
Thank you for visiting. I hope these images bring you the same peace and wonder I experienced in making them.
